Not sure I have this one quite right.

Museum Peace

In the distance I saw an ancient unlined face of a woman
I walked the polished stone floor in her direction
Her velvet arms prevented me from drawing closer
She did not care for sunlight or the touch of the living
Preferring the company of the beautiful helplessness of armless Greek gods
I came too late
Perhaps by a minute
Or a thousand years
She had made her decision
No more asking a question
No more listening for an answer
Her eyes were closed forever
Her expression forever formed
She had traveled inward
At peace with her own mystery
Leaving behind a marble message
"Let the caller and the called disappear, be lost in the Call"*

  1. If it's not right its awfully close!!

  2. I don't know nuthin' 'bout no Rumi, but the rest is exquisite and haunting...
